Three people were arrested early Friday in a Carson City apartment complex parking lot on suspicion of drug-related offenses.

Deputies approached two people in a van in the parking lot in the 2900 block of Menlo Drive about 3:15 a.m. and, according to the arrest reports, the occupants gave permission for a search of the vehicle.

A hypodermic needle was found in the passenger-side seat and a 39-year-old Carson City man, Benjamin David Coca, was arrested for investigation of misdemeanor possession of a hypodermic device, the report said.

The search also turned up a pouch with the other occupant's driver's license, packages of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana, and suspected drug paraphernalia. Debra Sue Daggetti, 34, of Carson City was arrested for investigation of felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing justice.

During the investigation, deputies learned that two other people had gone from the van into the complex to buy drugs, the arrest reports said. About 3:45 a.m. two women walked away from the apartments, then turned and ran when they saw a deputy, the reports said.

Kimberly Dawn Scott, 32, of Carson City was stopped by the deputy, who discovered a small pipe during a pat-down search and arrested her for investigation of possession of drug paraphernalia. A subsequent search of Scott turned up hypodermic needles and suspected marijuana. Scott was also arrested for investigation of felony possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of a hypodermic device.

Scott was held on $2,500 bail, Coca on $1,105 bail and Daggetti on $2,500 bail.
