MOUND HOUSE - A Lyon County ordinance allowing onsite watchmen's residences will be reviewed at tonight's Mound House Advisory Council meeting.

Council Chairman Chuck Roberts said he would like clarification of how the homes are used, noting that many appear to end up serving as rental units for the owners of the properties being watched. He would also like to see the currently accepted 1976 manufacturing date of such residences be changed to limit them to newer homes.

Lyon County ordinances allow mobile home "watchman's quarters" on certain manufacturing and commercially zoned properties. The property owners must apply for a special-use permit and appear before the county commissioners to explain the need for a resident watchman. Renting of such units is not allowed.

The Mound House Advisory Council meets at the Fire Station, 56 Red Rock Road, beginning at 7 p.m. For information, call 246-5060.

Other agenda items include:

- A report by County Engineer Dan O'Brien on construction of the new water tank and water lines in the Mound House area.
