Joyce A. Lund, 58, a Caledonia, Ill., resident, died Dec. 24, 2001 at her home. She was born Dec. 27, 1942, in Fairhaven, Mass., to Richard and Lucia Maria Gioiosa Stevenson.

She married Mark Lund in Massachusetts in 1965.

Mrs. Lund worked for many years as a registered nurse for ATEP at Rockford Memorial Hospital.

She was instrumental in organizing the first Reno Race for the Cure and devoted a great deal of her time and talent to the Susan B. Komen Foundation, a cancer advocacy group. She loved the ocean, traveling and the outdoors, especially hiking and cross-country skiing.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Among her survivors are her husband Mark; children Mark of Rockford and Kelly Armstrong of San Diego, Calif.; grandchildren Joshua and Kyle Lund; sister Dorothy Ward of Fairhaven, Mass. and a niece and great-nieces.

A funeral was held Dec. 27 at Fitzgerald & Associates Funeral Home in Rockford with the Rev. Matthew T. Rudden officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan B. Komen Foundation, Race for the Cure.
