Sheriff's Blotter

The following people were taken into custody at the Carson City jail. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

-- Kenneth Henry Smith, 36, of Carson City, no employment noted, was arrested at 11:15 a.m. Thursday in Carson City for investigation of possession of stolen property, driving without safety belts and failure to yield right-of-way to a pedestrian. Bail was set at $25,000.

-- Les Kaufman, 37, of Carson City, a distribution worker, was arrested at 9:17 p.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of Willard Lane for investigation of child neglect. Kaufman was allegedly babysitting for his roommate and lost track of her son, a toddler. The child was discovered in the 900 block of East Fifth Street, at least two blocks away, wearing only a pair of blue shorts. About an hour later, Child Protective Services took the child and at 10:50 p.m. his mother called the Sheriff's Department, reports say. During that period, Kaufman had made a few marginal efforts at locating him, said reports. Bail was set at $40,000.

-- Sharon Marie Wilson, 39, of Carson City, unemployed, was arrested at 8:07 p.m. Thursday at the Carson City Jail for the investigation of child neglect. Bail was set at $40,000.

-- Joshua Eugene Stapleton, 20, of Carson City, a mechanic, was arrested at 10:07 p.m. Thursday in the 3200 block of North Roop Street for the investigation of driving with a suspended driver's license, possession of a dangerous weapon, a broken headlamp and a parole and probation violation. He is being held without bail.

-- Alvaro Deleon-Monroy, 31, of Carson City, a machine operator, was arrested at 12:15 p.m. Thursday in the 1500 block of Airport Road on a warrant out of Carson City's First Judicial Court for the investigation of failure to appear. He is being held without bail.

-- A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 4:45 p.m. Thursday at the Carson City jail on a warrant out of Carson City Justice Court for the investigation of domestic battery. Bail was set at $3,000.

-- A 57-year-old Carson City man was arrested on Highway 50 East for the investigation of domestic battery. Bail was set at $3,105.

-- A 39-year-old Carson City woman was arrested at 5:40 p.m. Thursday in the 4000 block of Village Drive for the investigation of possession of a hypodermic device and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $2,210.

-- One battery with a deadly weapon report.

-- One vehicle damage report.

-- One vehicle burglary report.

-- Three domestic battery reports.

-- One child molestation/abuse/neglect report.

-- One battery report.

-- One missing person report.
