Obituary: Agnes C. Lowe

A memorial service for Agnes C. Lowe, 79, a Gardnerville resident for the past 13 years, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Carson Valley United Methodist Church in Gardnerville.

Mrs. Lowe died Oct. 15, 2002, at Carson Convalescent Center. She was born Aug. 28, 1923, in Orleans, Neb., to John and Elizabeth Schmidt Berendes.

She married Keith D. Lowe Aug. 4, 1947, in Orleans.

Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in San Bernardino, Calif.

She graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Nursing in Omaha.

She worked as a registered nurse for 56 years and was a department head of the childrens wing of the Community Hospital of San Bernardino. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening. She was a member of the Carson Valley Quilting Club and the Methodist Womens Group of Carson Valley. She belonged to the Carson Valley United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by brothers John and Joe and sisters Loretta Huffman and Sue.

Among her survivors are her husband Keith Lowe Sr. of Gardnerville; sons Keith D. Lowe II of Gardnerville, Greg W. of Santa Barbara, Jon H. of Truckee and Jerry A. of Gardnerville; daughters Gayle MaGee of Carson City and Patricia Williams of Sacramento; sister Marie Berendes of Orleans; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

Inurnment will be at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville is in charge of arrangements.
