Obituary: Josie Schneider

The rosary will be said 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville for Josie Schneider, 79, a Gardnerville resident for 18 years.

Mrs. Schneider died Oct. 10 at Barton Skilled Nursing at Virginia Creek in Gardnerville.

Born Jan. 9, 1921 to Pasquale and Susie Bruno Migardi, she married Eugene F. Schneider Aug. 13, 1949 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Los Angeles.

Mrs. Schneider volunteered to visit the sick and wounded during World War II. She also volunteered at the Senior Citizen's Center in Gardnerville and did volunteer office work in Gardnerville. She enjoyed painting, chrocheting and reading. She was a teacher's aide for the Douglas County School District.

Mrs. Schneider was an office manager for S&S Wholesale Grocery in Long Island, N.Y. for 10 years. She was a member of the American Association for Retired Persons and St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, mary.

Mrs. Schneider is survived by her husband, Eugene of Gardnerville; two daughters, Susan M. Hughes of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and Gina C. Heverling of Walden, Colo.; and a grandson, Reid M. Hughes of Steamboat Springs.

Cremation is by FitzHenry's Crematory.

A private inurnment will be held at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville is in charge of arrangements.
