Obituary for Gladys Opal Gentry

A funeral is planned Wednesday in Modesto, Calif., for Gladys Opal Gentry, 90, who died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at Evergreen Convalescent Center in Carson City.

She was born to Ben and Minnie Bittle Holmes in Walnut Ridge, Ark., on July 15, 1912.

She lived in Modesto until 1978 when she moved to Carson City.

Her husband, Alton Gentry, died in 1987.

She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include: Fern Hayward of Carson City; Clella Crouse of Portland, Ore., Linda Osterli of Modesto; Jack Gentry of Carson City; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Salas Brothers Mortuary in Modesto where the funeral will be at 1 p.m. the next day.

Burial will be Wednesday at Lakewood Memorial Park.
