Obituary: Philip Watson

An Irish wake for Philip A. Watson, 69, a Carson City resident for the past 44 years, will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at The Timbers.

Mr. Watson died July 20, 2003, at his home. He was born Sept. 14, 1933, in St. Helena, Calif., to Albert and Miriam O'Hara Watson.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Vallejo, Calif.

Mr. Watson was parts manager for Valley Chevrolet for 40 years. He was an avid sports fan and loved the 49ers and the Giants. He was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary K. Watson.

Among his survivors are his son James E. of Elko; sons Steven E., David M. and Kevin P., all of Carson City; daughter, Phyllis A. Watson of Austin, Texas; brother, Paul of Gardnerville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
