Dorothy Ruth Farnell, 90, a Carson City resident for the past 10 years, died June 19, 2004, at home. No services will be held.

Mrs. Farnell was born June 21, 1913, on a farm near Muscotah, Kan., to Charles E. and Lida C. Boyle.

Mrs. Farnell moved to Long Beach, Calif., in October 1926. She graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School in June 1932.

She married her high school sweetheart, Russell Farnell, June 25, 1933. Prior to living in Carson City she lived in Westminster, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years on June 15, 1998; son, Russell E.; grandson Michael and granddaughter Terrie.

Among her survivors are her daughter, Jannett Prough of Puerto Rico; granddaughters Linda Dunham of Carson City and Debbie and Kathy on the East Coast; grandsons Russell A. Hansen of Carson City, Jeff Farnell of Scottsdale, Ariz,. and John Farnell of Cypress, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law Catherine and Henry Wood; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons and two great-great-great-grandsons.

Cremation is under the direction of FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
