Carson wrestlers strong in tournament

It was another banner day for Carson Middle School's wrestlers in a Tah-Neva League meet on Saturday at Fernley Intermediate School.

Twelve of Carson's 13 eighth grade wrestlers placed and four won titles: Chris Brown, 95 pounds; Doug Lipka, 105; Aaron Jolcover, 130; Garrett Truesdale, 135.

Carson's seventh grade team had 18 wrestlers place in 15 classes. Three Carson wrestlers won titles: Nick Schlager, 75; Ryan Davies, 105; Blake Davidson, 125.

Other eighth graders who placed were: Second - Chad Plattsmier, 100; Markus Adams, 110; Matt Kleinfieldt, 175; Frank Urbani, heavyweight. Third - Brian Ardinger, 85; Gil Tapia, 95. Fourth - Matt Robinson, 105; Julian Block, 110.

Other seventh graders who placed were: Second - Juan Arellano, 95; Tyler Preston, 110; Max Schadeck, heavyweight. Third - Garrett Merryweather, 75; Justin Henley, 120; Jeff Butler, 135; A.J. Evans, heavyweight; Casey Good, 100. Fourth - Brett Valley, 85; Ryan Patterson, 90; Sean Tadjeran, 100; Anthony Cornell, 110; Brett Allen, 115.
