Charles Doty

Charles "Chuck" L. Doty, a long-time resident of Fallon, passed away on May 1, 2004. He was 65.

Chuck was born Feb. 16, 1939 in Indianapolis, Ind. to Clarence and Helen Tyler Doty. He graduated from high school in Oleay, Ind. and was a member of the U. S. Marines for four years. He worked at Joe Dini's Lucky Club in Yerington as a slot manager before moving in Fallon. He also worked as a slot mechanic for the Fallon Nugget for many years and also worked at The Depot. He drove a truck for various construction companies. Chuck enjoyed horses and the outdoors and he participated in many Pony Express and wagon train events around the state.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Doty, and his son, James Doty, both of Fallon; daughter Ann Marie Green of Petaluma, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law Opal and Ed Mann of Puyallup, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research, Attn: Memorial Fund, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 14, at 11 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Arrangements are under the direction of The Gardens Funeral Home, Fallon, 775-423-8928.
