A funeral Mass for Betty J. Doty, 80, a Gardnerville resident for the past 18 years, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Gall Catholic Church.

A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Gall.

Mrs. Doty died July 6, 2004, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born April 28, 1924, in Colton, Calif., to William and Mary Kline Lux.

She graduated from high school in San Bernardino, Calif.

She married David Lee Doty on April 2, 1943, in San Bernardino.

Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in San Bernardino from 1945 to 1956 and in Reno-Sparks from 1969 to 1986.

Mrs. Doty worked as a bank teller for Security National Bank in San Bernardino and in Reno, retiring in 1984 after more than 25 years.

She enjoyed the ocean and lighthouses. She was a member of St. Gall Catholic Church and active in PTA at various schools and in fund-raisers for nonprofit organizations.

She was preceded in death by her older sister.

Among her survivors are her husband of Gardnerville; daughter, Mary Jo Wiese of Lemmon Valley; daughters and sons-in-law Shirley and Jerome Buckmier of Vancouver, Wash., and Patty and Bill Brackett of Reno; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Eastside Memorial Cemetery in Gardnerville.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or St. Gall Catholic Church Memorial Fund.
