A memorial service for Joy Pease, 71, a 17-year resident of Carson City, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith.

Mrs. Pease died Dec. 30, 2005, at Washoe Medical Center in Reno. She was born Feb. 24, 1934, in Belingham, Wash., to Edgar Haugen and Ruth Anderson.

She married Robert Pease on March 10, 1973.

She worked as a real estate secretary and was an active member of the Dayton Senior Center. She enjoyed reading, collecting cardinals and being with her family.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Ridgecrest, Calif.

Mrs. Pease was preceded in death by her husband Feb. 10, 2005, her parents and sisters Edna and Ruth.

Among her survivors are her companion, Claude McIntosh; sons and daughters-in-law George and Lisa Richardson of Hood River, Ore., and Wayne and Debbie Gale of Flagstaff, Ariz.; daughter Ruthi Silva of San Leandro, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law Marty and Bob Freilick and Diana and Peter Zemp, all of Carson City; stepdaughters and their husbands Barbara and George Delawyer of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Sharon and Jim Steipan of Irvine, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
