A memorial service for Charles Leo Norton, 60, a 17-year Silver Springs resident, will be at 11 a.m. May 1 at the Masonic Temple in Virginia City.

Mr. Norton died April 18, 2006, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. He was born Oct. 10, 1945, in Pasadena, Calif., to Charles John Norton and Darleen Marie Markham.

He married Dianna C. Willerford on Oct. 12, 1982 in Chino, Calif.

Before moving to Silver Springs, he lived in Tehachapi, Calif.

Mr. Norton was a high school graduate and a master floral designer.

He served in the U.S. Coast Guard.

He belonged to the Masons.

He was preceded in death by his brother Randy Norton on April 8, 2006, in Dayton, Texas.

Among his survivors are his mother; his wife, of Silver Springs; daughter Heidi Norton, of San Francisco; sisters Kim Beasley and Teresa Ungles, both of Dayton, Texas; brothers Jerry Beasley, of Dayton, Texas, and Mark Beasley, of Sparks; three grandchildren; and 17 nieces and nephews.

Cremation took place at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
