John E. Gonzales

John E. Gonzales, 73, a 30-year Carson City resident, died April 22, 2006, at his home.

Mr. Gonzales was born Dec. 19, 1932, in Placerville, Colo., to Joe and Florentine Gonzales.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Tooele, Utah.

He was a miner.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by four sisters five brothers.

Among his survivors are former wife and friend, Maria Harig; son Terry Gonzales; brothers Robert Gonzales of Naturita, Colo., LeRoy Gonzales of Montrose, Colo., and Eugene Gonzales of Colorado; sisters Lois, Josephine, Della, June and Jane; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation took place at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made to hospice or the American Cancer Society.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
