Shakespeare has struck his tents at the Lake Tahoe Festival, but the music lingers on.

The theater troupe is being followed at Sand Harbor by a series of performances of music, ballet and a fanciful one-man show.

First off is the Midsummer Nights "Celebrating Genius" series that runs tonight and Wednesday night.

The Orchestra and Community Choral Artists of the Tahoe Area (TOCCATA) along with soft-rock band Maestro James Rawie and Friends, presents a John Lennon 25th Anniversary Memorial Concert.

Relive the Beatles' music in a classical requiem format that is interspersed with five centuries of folk-rock and classical music.

On Thursday and Saturday, guests can enjoy a light-hearted production by the Nevada Opera of one of Mozart's classic operas, "Così fan Tutte."

Under conductor Michael Borowitz, the performance tells the tale of the unpredictability of love and lovers as two straight-as-an-arrow friends scheme to prove the fidelity of their fiancées.

On Friday and Sunday, the Sierra Nevada Ballet, under the direction of choreographer Rosine Bena, performs "Stars Under the Stars,: A Celebration of Dance & Music from Mozart to Lennon." The program includes music from contemporary to classical and includes performances by dancer Domingo Rubio and Sam Weber, the "fastest feet in tap," along with the company dancers from the ballet.

On Monday, it's an evening with "The Life and Times of Leonardo da Vinci," presented by Peter Donaldson and Lake Tahoe Chautauqua.

Da Vinci's life embodied the spirit of humanists that ignited the Italian Renaissance 500 years ago. In chautauqua style, Donaldson performs and answers questions in character and then, stepping out of character, explores questions related to the New Renaissance.
