A memorial service for Ronald Lee McKimmy, 61, a 32-year Carson City and Reno resident, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City.

Mr. McKimmy died Jan. 16, 2006, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. He was born June 20, 1944, in Adrian, Mich., to Lee McKimmy and Viola Sisk.

He received a degree in criminal justice and was a deputy sheriff.

He was a member of Single-Action Shooters Society (SASS) shooting club. He volunteered at the railroad museum and was a member of the Friends of the Nevada State Railroad Museum.

He was preceded in death by his father in 2004 and his son Jeffrey Sean McKimmy in 1981.

Among his survivors are his fiancee Janet Ordal of Carson City; son Ron McKimmy Jr. of Reno; daughters Shannon McKimmy-Dietrich and Tiffany McKimmy, both of Reno; mother, Viola Sisk of Claremont, Calif.; sisters Renee Crist of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Dana Clancy of California; and grandson, Gunnar Jeffrey McKimmy.

Cremation took place at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Donations may be made to the Nevada State Railroad Museum.
