A memorial service for George Epley, 67, a seven-year Roseburg, Ore., resident , will be 2 p.m. Friday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home. A burial service will be 2 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Cleveland Cemetery in Roseburg.

Mr. Epley died Oct. 27, 2006, at his home. He was born in 1939 in Carmi, Ill.

He graduated from high school in 1957 and married Susan Van Slyck on Oct. 12, 1963, in Reno.

He worked for Nevada Bell from 1970 until his retirement.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1959.

Before moving to Roseburg Mr. Epley lived in Carson City.

He was a volunteer for the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City, and an engineer for the Virginia & Truckee Railroad in Virginia City. He was a member of the Nevada State Railroad Museum, the American Legion and Telephone Pioneers.

Among his survivors are his wife of Roseburg; sons and daughters-in-law John and Christina Epley of Carson City and Jim and Michele Epley of Roseburg; daughter Alice Epley of Carson City; brother and sister-in-law Jim and Betty Epley of Roseburg and six grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Nevada State Railroad Museum.

Wilson's Chapel of the Roses in Roseburg is in charge of arrangements.
