A Rosary will be said for Jon E. Miller, 61, a Carson City resident since 1972, at 11 a.m. Sunday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley. A funeral Mass will said 10 a.m. Monday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in the small chapel. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Miller died June 4, 2006, in Carson City. He was born Jan. 5, 1945, in Vallejo, Calif., to Edward V. Miller and Alice M. Duggan.

He married Lourdes Soriano on Feb. 23, 1995, in the Philippines.

Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Miller lived at South Lake Tahoe for five years.

He was a high school graduate and attended two years of community college.

Mr. Miller was a security officer for the Peppermill Hotel and Casino for 11 years.

He enjoyed watching sports on television.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; sons Jon E. Miller Jr. of Granbury, Texas, Eric Soriano of Reno, Reynaldo Soriano of Dayton; daughters Brixton Soriano of Carson City, Rosanna Phillips of Sparks, Kandace Goodpasture of Reno, Reychelle Soriano of Reno and Samantha Miller of Carson City; and eight grandchildren.

Burial will take place at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
