A memorial service and celebration of life for Daniel Lee Morose, 67, a 16-year Yerington resident, will be 1 p.m. Sunday at the Mason Valley Moose Lodge, 644 S. Main St. in Yerington.

Mr. Morose died Nov. 2, 2006, at the South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington. He was born Dec. 29, 1938, in Franklin Park, Ill. to Thomas Morose and Joan Bottorff Morose.

He graduated from Leyden High School in 1957.

He worked on the Indian Harbor Railroad and drove trucks in and around Chicago, and across the country.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member, volunteer and past officer of the Mason Valley Loyal Order of the Moose; a member of several chapters of E. Clampus Vitus; assistant Hawker for the Snowshoe Thompson Chapter and a member of the American Legion.

He enjoyed meeting new people, humor, railroads, playing cards, reading, trivia and crossword puzzles.

Mr. Morose was preceded in death by his parents and by stepfather James Doherty.

Among his survivors are his sister, Roseanne Allen of Yerington; sons Daniel C. Morose of Yerington, Andrew Morose of Las Vegas and Michael Morose of Truckee; three granddaughters; two nephews and one niece.

Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington is in charge of arrangements.
