Linda B. Newell, 60, an eight-year Carson City resident, died Oct. 2, 2006, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Newell was born June 1, 1946, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to Julian J. Barrett and Lois W. Wiley.
She married Wayne T. Newell on Dec. 22, 1984, in West Point, Calif.
Before moving to Carson City, Mrs. Newell lived in Gardnerville and Minden for four years, and before that in West Point.
She was a graduate of Timonium High School in Maryland, and a homemaker.
She enjoyed collecting Beanie Babies and supporting her son in motorcycle racing.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Among her survivors are her husband of Carson City; sons and daughters-in-law Todd and Bianca Davis of Ogden, Utah, Jay and Zeny Davis of Warner Robbins, Ga., and David and Mary Newell of Railroad Flat, Calif.; daughter, Jennifer Peterson of South Lake Tahoe; and eight grandchildren.
Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
