A burial with military honors for Lamar B. Chapman, 76, a 12-year Mound House resident, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Monday at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith.

Mr. Chapman died Oct. 25, 2006, in Carson City. He was born May 14, 1930, in Salt Lake City, to Noel Chapman and Theo Michols Chapman.

He married Rose C. Hawks on Aug. 9, 1980, in La Puente, Calif.

Before moving to Mound House, Mr. Chapman lived in Hesperia, Calif.

He had worked for the American National Insurance Co. for 30 years as an underwriter.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He enjoyed fishing and humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Among his survivors are his wife of 26 years, of Mound House; sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Tracey Chapman of Pollock Pines, Calif., and Frank and Denise Chapman of Kentucky; daughter Cindy Hamacher of Washington; daughter and son-in-law Jackie and Quannah Tresner of Mound House; sister Patsy Alexander of Victorville, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
