DOUGLAS 4, WOOSTER 0

Douglas (10-3, 4-3) solidified its playoff position taking control of fourth in the Sierra League.

Michael Barnes scored the first two goals, the first coming when he sent a rocket into the net from the outside after receiving a pass from Michael Gransbery, who was in the middle. "It was perfect, a beautiful shot," Douglas coach Milko Vasquez said.

Edgar Arceo then drew a foul just outside the goal box to set up Barnes' next goal, which came off a pass from Eddie Vega. Vega then fed Andrew Andraski, who scored to make it 3-0 at halftime.

Kyle Gardner scored off of a corner kick by Oscar Gonzalez to finish the scoring. Jose Alcaraz and Andraski combined to make eight saves to post the shutout. Ross Gardner played well at midfield and Derek Cantley, Ray Kaffer and Kyle Mannschreck played well defensively.

Vasquez said his team played well throughout. "In the past we've played well," Vasquez said. "We really played well. We played a whole game."

Douglas won the JV game 2-0.
