The Carson Middle School eighth grade volleyball team is holding a fund raising raffle, featuring a grand prize of an Alaskan fishing trip for two persons, later this summer.

That grand prize includes $1,200 for airfare/hotel vouchers, plus 3 days and 2 nights on a 52-foot sport fishing yacht (Harvest Time Charters) out of Homer on July 16-18.

You will be fishing for trophy halibut, lingcod, yellow-eye and coho salmon.

If you get tired of fishing for world-class halibut, salmon and rock fish, Harvest Times Charters also offers whale watching, bear viewing, along with seeing sea otters, marine birds, and tide-water glaciers for the photographer, artist, or sightseer.

Evenings on the yacht are spent dining on fresh-caught Alaskan seafood in the coastal region of Cugach Islands and Nuka Bay.

You will be with Captain Robert and his son Roland Maw, who will provide guided sport fishing aboard their 52 ft by 16 ft yacht "Short Circuit."

Short Circuit is a twin-diesel engine sport fishing yacht with accommodations for six plus a crew of two. Some of the yacht's amenities are: Hot/cold water, hot showers, entertainment center, heated rooms, large salon. Also, all tackle, bait, rods and reels, fishing cockpit with tackle and bait centers and large roomy fishing area. Fish holds are available with ice to store catch.

The raffle tickets are $25 each or five for $100.

The raffle is limited to 500 tickets.

The drawing will be held on May 15 and you do not need to be present to win.

The fund raiser funds will be used for volleyball team uniforms, equipment, tournament fees, travel expenses, etc.
