A memorial service for Virginia D. Roach, 93, will be 3 p.m. Monday at Walton's Sierra Chapel, 875 W. Second St., Reno.

Mrs. Roach died June 20, 2007, at her home. She was born April 28, 1914, in Richmond, Calif., to Joseph and Maria Caetano.

She graduated from Richmond High School and attended business college in California's Bay area.

She married Lawrence Roach in 1942.

She worked for the draft board during World War II and continued working for the federal government in the Bay area after the war ended.

In 1953, she moved to Chester, Calif., where she was a medical receptionist and then moved to Mendocino, Calif., where she worked for the park service and Mendocino Realty.

After moving to Pleasant Valley in 1984, she worked for Continental Cablevision in Reno where she was recognized as Employee of the Year in 1987.

She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, fishing, traveling and rockhounding. She was a member of the Reno Gem and Mineral Society and an artist.

Among her survivors are son Larry of Carson City; daughter Lorrie Peterson of Reno; sons Merle Salvador of Chester, Joe Salvador of Eugene, Ore., and grandsons Sean Roach and Loren Roach.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Walton Funeral Home, Reno, is in charge of arrangements.
