A funeral for Linda Eileen Gilbert, 59, a Sparks resident since 1982, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sparks United Methodist Church at Pyramid Way and Oddie Boulevard.
A reception will follow at the Club House at Rainbow Bend, 500 Bleu de Clare. A viewing will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Truckee Meadows Cremation and Burial, 616 S. Wells Ave.
Mrs. Gilbert died March 8, 2007, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was born April 15, 1947, in Rush City, Minn., to Gerald Carpenter and Eileen Goring.
Before moving to Sparks, Mrs. Gilbert lived in Eugene, Ore.
She enjoyed Country and Western dancing and the Minnesota Vikings.
Among her survivors are her husband of 30 years, Ed Gilbert; stepfather Leroy Hillbrand of Paynesville, Minn.; sons Derek and Jeff Haslip of Sparks, Mike Gilbert of Anchorage, Alaska, and Eddie Gilbert of Carson City; sister Laurie Ward of Mankato, Minn.; brother Bob Carpenter of Reno; four grandchildren and numerous extended family members.
Memorial donations may be made to the Reno Cancer Foundation, 77 Pringle Way, Reno, NV, 89502.
Truckee Meadows Cremation and Burial is in charge of arrangements.
