Tier 2 sex offender arrested for failing to register

A tier 2 sex offender was arrested Wednesday for failing to register his new address.

Levi Daniel Whitehead, 20, unemployed, of Carson City, was arrested at 3:37 p.m. at 20 College Parkway on suspicion of felony failing to register as a sex offender.

According to the arrest report, investigators learned Whitehead was living at the College Parkway address, different than the one on Ponderosa Drive with which he'd registered.

Whitehead is convicted out of Idaho for an undisclosed sexual offense.

He is being held on $15,000 bail.

A tier 2 sex offender is considered by the state registry to be of moderate risk to reoffend. Tiers 2 and 3 offenders are listed on the state's registry at: www.nvsexoffenders.gov/.
