A memorial for Allen Lowell Wicks, 82, a 10-year Gardnerville resident, will be 3 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1480 Douglas Ave., in Gardnerville.

Mr. Wicks died Sept. 11, 2007, at his home. He was born Aug. 31, 1925, in Las Vegas, N.M., to LeRoy S. Wicks and Alta R. Ness Wicks.

Prior to living in Gardnerville he resided in Albuquerque, N.M.

Mr. Wicks was an executive vice president in the banking industry, and was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and member of The Sons of Norway.

Mr. Wicks served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on a submarine.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, in 2002; and two brothers, LeRoy and Glenn Wicks.

Among his survivors are his brother Roald Wicks of Camarillo, Calif.; sister Carol Tinker of Weslaco, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.
