Wanda L. Thrower, 80, a Nevada resident of 20 years and a former resident of Paso Robles, Calif, passed away peacefully at her home on July 21, 2008.

She was born in Long Beach, Calif. on April 12, 1928. She raised her family in Orange County and Paso Robles. While in Nevada, she enjoyed working in the gaming industry, chatting with customers and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Thrower; her parents, John and Martha Burns and her son-in-law Bob Kreller.

Wanda is survived by daughters Cathie Thompson of Salinas, Calif.; Karen Kreller of Las Vegas, NV; Denise Victorine Rutledge of Dayton; and Suean Cook of Paso Robles, Calif.; sister Rita EnEarl of Gardnerville; brother-in-law Freddy Thrower of Ventura, Calif.; sons-in-law Herb Rutledge and Greg Cook; grandchildren Michelle Stancari, Shannon Mitchell, Sean Thompson, Amoreena Victorine, Jennifer Haigh, Ian and Alexandra Cook; eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service will be 10 a.m., August 10, 2008 at at Lone Mountain Cemetery in the Veteran's Section.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Wanda's name to Barton Hospice Care of the Lake/Valley or Cason Advocates for Cancer Care. FitzHenry's Funeral Home is caring for arrangements.
