'Hungry Caterpillar' to be staged


Wild Horse Children's Theater presents the production of Eric Carle's "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," 9-9:45 a.m. today and March 15 at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada, 813 N. Carson St.


Tickets are limited and are $8 for general public and $5 for children younger than age 10.

Carson City Elk's Lodge hosts its Charity Ball


Carson City Elk's Lodge No. 2177 welcomes the public to their Charity Ball, 515 N. Nevada St. No-host cocktails are at 5 p.m., dinner of stuffed pork loin and seafood brochette will be presented by Wilde Catering.


At 7 p.m. enjoy the music of the Rick Hammond Blues Band. Proceeds will be split between Project Safe Haven (temporary housing for battered and abused children in Nevada) and scholarship funds for local children.


Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased at the lodge from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, or call 882-2177 or 315-8193 for information.




St. Teresa of Avila Crab Dinner Benefit


St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School's annual crab dinner benefit, "Crab Claws for a Good Cause," is from 6-11 p.m. March 7 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community, 3000 N. Lompa Lane.


Tickets are $40 per person and can be purchased at the school office, 567 S. Richmond St. or after 9:30 a.m. Mass Sunday at the church.

South Lake Tahoe


Oscar night at MontBleu


Tahoe Arts Project hosts their major fundraising event 'An Evening with Oscar' to support South Lake Tahoe youth and community performing art programs for 2008 4 p.m. Sunday at the MontBleu Theater.


Event starts with a silent auction and no-host bar. At 5 p.m. the live telecast begins followed by dinner service at 5:30.


The cost is $65 per person and reserved tables for ten can be purchased for $700 and booths for two for $150. Tickets are on sale at (530) 542-3632 or at the MontBleu Box Office.
