Lyon County police are looking for the man who robbed a Dayton gas station at gunpoint Monday night.

Sheriff's Lt. Rob Hall said the gunman entered the Winner's Corner at Dayton Valley Road and Highway 50 just before midnight, and forced one clerk into the kitchen and the other to load a bag with money.

Hall said the bandit waved around a pistol, which can be clearly seen on surveillance footage from inside the business.

The clerks complied with the robber and were not harmed. He was last seen walking eastbound toward Dayton Valley Road.

"In the next couple of days we should have something to put out on the video," said Hall.

The robber is described as a black male between 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 6 feet tall and weighing 180-190 pounds. He was last seen wearing black pants, shoes and jacket with a black stocking cap and a purple bandana around his face.

Anyone with information is asked to call Deputy Howard Miller or Detective Jack Huizar at 463-6620 or 463-6600. To make an anonymous tip call 1 (866) 481-3446.
