Nonperishable food items; any household goods including furniture are needed.

Cinderella coming soon to the BAC


The BAC Stage Kids is excited to announce its upcoming production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella," a beautiful adaptation of the classic fairy tale. The show will run two weekends with shows 7 p.m. Jan. 18, 19, 25 and 26 and 2 p.m. Jan. 19, 20, 26 and 27 at the Donald W. Reynolds Black Box Theater, 449 W. Children's Theater to hold auditions


Wild Horse Children's Theater announces auditions for their spring production of C.S. Lewis' "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." Auditions for children ages 5 to 15 will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 10 a.m. at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada, 813 N. Carson St. Auditioners must sign up for an audition time slot by calling 887-0438. Come prepared with a short (one minute or less) monologue, nursery rhyme or poem. Some auditioners may be asked to read from the script. Production dates are April 18, 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27.

Human Resources group meeting Thursday


The Sierra Nevada Human Resources Association will meet at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the Casino Fandango buffet conference room, 3800 S. Carson St.


The topic of the meeting is "The Emerging Workforce," presented by Sandy Mazur, senior vice president of Staffing and Recruiting Spherion Corporate Headquarters, the program begins at 8 a.m.


Cost is $5 for members; $10 for nonmembers. An RSVP is requested to 450-9180.




Singles club proposed for senior center


The Carson City Senior Citizens Center has received interest in a singles club. A meeting to discuss this will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Tahoe Room of the center, 911 Beverly Drive. The club is "co-ed."


A few activities that have been suggested include: Economical dinners and lunches - Dutch treat; bowling (nights); dinner and "Senior Follies" (in May); Bocci ball in spring and summer; attend plays and musicals at the Carson City Community Center and Brewery Arts Center; mystery trips; progressive dinners; potluck picnics at Lake Tahoe or other local parks; holiday parties; Sunday concerts on the lawn at the Legislature (summer); wine walks in Carson City; senior center dances in Gardnerville, Reno and Carson City.
