BAKERSFIELD, Calif. " An 11-year-old boy led officers on a high-speed chase topping 100 mph while standing on the car's floorboard to reach the gas pedal.

California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Ehly says the boy was unhappy at home, so he drove off with his parent's gray Mercury Sable around 5 p.m. on Monday.

Ehly says the boy, who was not identified because of his age, drove more than 100 mph without wearing a seatbelt before officers stopped him.

The boy has been booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of felony evading and for being an unlicensed driver.
