Isolated showers, breezy afternoon

Today's weather includes isolated showers with partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions. Highs 69-79 with southwest winds around 10 mph increasing to 15-20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight, partly cloudy with lows 43-53 with west winds 15-20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph becoming southwest up to 10 mph after midnight.

Friday, mostly cloudy and breezy with areas of blowing dust in the afternoon. Highs 63-73 with southwest winds around 10 mph increasing to 15-25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph in the afternoon.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, mainly Fairview Drive between Roop Street and South Lompa Lane, primarily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Highway 50 East between Airport Road and Saliman Road.

The closure of westbound Fairview Drive from Saliman Road to Roop Street is still in effect. Alternate routes of travel are Colorado Street to the south, and Little Lane to the north.

Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.

Resurfacing continues on Highway 50; traffic controls are in effect during all hours of the day with lane variations. Work includes paving, miscellaneous construction, speed limits, flaggers and possible delays.

Road work from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. along Highway 395 through Carson City has begun and includes paving, miscellaneous construction, speed limits, flaggers and possible delays.

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 6:10 a.m. all roads open with no controls.
