Appeal Staff Report

The Carson Senators Tiny Mites Blue football team defeated the Fallon Greenwave 24-0 Friday at Governor's Field.

The Senators defense was stingy all night long, and allowed only one first down the entire game. Defensive linemen Garrett Tibma, Malek Kangas and Braxton Carter tackled the Fallon quarterback on Fallon's first play from scrimmage and the Greenwave was never able to recover.

Defensive ends Sasha Keith-Handschuh and Colton Schafer had numerous tackles and sacks while Connor McCleary, Peter Honein, Brandon Mendoza, Chance Sanders all played well defensively. Carson's Adam Fenton made a huge tackle to save a touchdown in the first half. Garrett Wilson and Gabriel Tatro also played well defensively.

Offensively, the Senators came out strong and scored at will. The offensive line comprised of Dean Poppenga, Cody Neal, Kevin Tooke, McCleary, Tatro and Kangas manhandled the Fallon defense the entire game, creating huge holes for the running backs. Schafer had three carriers for three touchdowns and Fenton scored the other touchdown, his first of the year, just before halftime.

Carter and Honein was also effective running the ball. The highlight of the game came just before halftime when quarterback Chance Sanders hit receiver Gabriel Morton with a perfect spiral, in traffic, which resulted in a 40-yard gain. That pass play brought the ball to the Fallon 10-yard line and set up Fenton's TD.

The Tiny Mites Blue travel to Sparks this Friday to face the Sparks Cardinals at Golden Eagle Park at 6 p.m.
