Obituary: Marilyn Ethel Koop

Marilyn Ethel Koop, 79, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away April 16, 2009 in Reno.

Born Nov. 29, 1929 to William and May Morris in San Francisco, Calif. Marilyn married the love of her life Lee Koop May 7, 1954. In 1977, they moved from San Bruno, Calif. to Carson City.

Marilyn had hobbies including spending time with her family, shopping and going to the Atlantis with her (buddy) sister Jean. Marilyn worked many years for Mervyn's Department Store and The Ormsby House in Carson City.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her father Willie, Nana Ethel, aunt Flo and brother-in-law Chuck.

She will be missed by her loving husband Lee Koop of Reno; mother May Morris of San Bruno, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Tony Ruggiero of Carson City; son Dave Koop of Reno; sister Jean Forbes of Reno, and sister and brother-in-law Arline and Dennis Larson of San Bruno, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law Chuck and Fran Koop of San Rafael, Calif.; grandson Bill and wife Sheila Conour of Dayton; granddaughters Kelly and husband Eric Engels of Carson City, and Sabrina Koop of Reno; great-grandchildren, Justin, Travis, Brandon, Destiney, Londyn, Ryan and Hunter and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be 11 a.m., May 16, 2009 at the Koops home. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Marilyn's name to the Cancer Society of Ovarian Cancer.
