Free tax preparation for seniors

AARP will offer free tax preparation for seniors. Taxpayers wanting their taxes prepared and electronically filed for free do not have to be AARP members or any specific minimum age. Runs through April 15 representatives will be at the Carson City Senior Center, 12:30-5 p.m., Monday and Wednesday, 911 Beverly Drive and FISH, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday. Appointments are required. Legacy Corps seeks volunteers

The Nevada Rural Counties RSVP Program's Nevada Legacy Corps seeks volunteers to provide respite to caregivers who provide 24/7 care to homebound family members suffering from Alzheimer's, post-stroke, dementia, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, cancer, COPD, heart problems, head injuries, seizure disorders and many other disabilities throughout Carson City, and Douglas, Lyon, Storey and Washoe counties.
