A state employee was arrested at his workplace Friday for allegedly stealing prescription drugs from a co-worker, according to a spokesperson with the Department of Public Safety.

Victor Anderson, 42, an 18-year employee in the Information Technology department of the Department of Public Safety, was booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of two counts of felony burglary, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of petty larceny, according to Sheriff's Department Records.

Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Gail Powell said Anderson is on paid administrative leave pending an internal review.

She did not have further information on the charges or Anderson's arrest by Nevada Division of Investigation officers.

His bail is set at $27,750.
