A trio of drug raids on Como Street early Thursday morning ended a lengthy investigation into methamphetamine trafficking and landed four people in jail, according to the Tri-NET Narcotic Task Force

Her bail is set at $250,000.

Smotherman's boyfriend Eduardo Ramon Pena-Alvarado, 30, was arrested on suspicion of three counts of felony trafficking in a controlled substance, sales of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sales, possession of a controlled substance, and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act. His bail also was set at $250,000.

Edgar Benitez, 23, was arrested on one count of possession of a controlled substance and Victor Calderon, 25, was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement for deportation.

According to Detective Mitch Pier, just before 5:30 a.m. Thursday officers simultaneously served search warrants at 1407 Como St. Apt. B, 1305 Como St. Apt. B and 1303 Como St. Apt. A.

In the home with Smotherman and Pena-Alvarado were two boys under the age of 12 who were released to a grandparent, said Pier.

As a result of the investigation approximately 105 grams of crystal methamphetamine was recovered, having an estimated street value of $10,500.

Pier said the search warrants recovered "several thousand dollars" in cash and numerous firearms.

Carson City Sheriff's Office SWAT, Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team, Douglas County Sheriff's Office Street Enforcement Team, federal Immigration Customs Enforcement and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration assisted Tri-NET with the warrants.

The Tri-NET Narcotic Task Force is supervised by the Nevada Department of Public Safety, and comprised of investigators from the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Carson City Sheriff's Office, Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Lyon County Sheriff's Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Pier said the investigation continues and additional charges and arrests are possible.
