Beginning Sunday the First Presbyterian Church of Carson City will have one Sunday service at 10 a.m.

That schedule will continue until Sept. 20.

Children's Sunday school will take place at the same time. Adult Sunday school will take the summer off.

St. Teresa of Avila Christian Community hosts praise and worship concerts the second Tuesdays of each month.

On Tuesday from 7-8 p.m. enjoy the music of Terri Bond and her six-piece band outside the church under the stars.

Bring lawn chairs and picnics for a time of fellowship that begins at 6 p.m.

The Interfaith Clergy of Carson City and Reno are sponsoring the first Heal the World Picnic in Carson City beginning at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at Mills Park Pavilions B and C.

The picnic is designed to bring together people of different faiths, cultures and nationalities to celebrate, appreciate and respect their differences.

Attendees are asked to bring a potluck dish of already prepared and cooked vegetarian or poultry dish to share. To respect the dietary differences of various faiths, no beef, pork or shellfish will be served. The park does not allow alcohol.

There will be games, music and time to learn about other faiths and cultures.

There will be a donation table set up for the local food banks.
