Native and newcomers meeting

Carson City Native and Newcomers will meet 11 a.m., Thursday, June 11 at the Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St., upstairs. A no host buffet lunch will be served; business meeting to follow. Betty Razor of Food for Thought will speak. For information and to RSVP, call 883-1087.

Day in the Park with Carson Democratic Women's Club

The Carson City Democratic Women's Club will host a networking "Day in the Park," 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 13, at Longranch Park, 435 Longview Way. Bonnie Parnell, Assembly District 40 representative and Erin Bilbray Kohn, Nevada's representative to the Democratic National Committee, will speak. Women are invited to bring their children to this networking day. The gathering of views and opinions of busy, politically interested, but, currently inactive women will spark a membership expansion drive by the Club. For information, call 882-5704.

Kids Summer Art Camp upcoming

The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada offers "Kids Summer Art Camp", 9-11:30 a.m., Monday, June 8-Friday, June 12 and Monday, June 15-Friday, June 19 with Miss Kris and Miss Penny. Ask any kid - making a mess is fun. $65 for members; $75 for non-members. Age 3 and older. The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada is located at 813 N. Affordable lab screenings offered

Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center offers affordable lab screenings the second Tuesday of the month. The next affordable lab screening healthcheck fair will be Tuesday, June 9. Doctor's orders are not required. Included: Comprehensive Metabolic and Lipid Panel, PSA, CBC, TSH, and Hemoglobin A1c. Appointments are required.
