Senators Summer Slam Basketball Camp

It's summer and the temperatures are on the rise. It's time once again to get the children in some fun activities, camps and events to keep them fit.

Sign them up for the Senators Summer Slam Basketball Camp. With the head coach of the Carson High Senators leading the drills, your children can't go wrong.

WHAT: Basketball camp

WHERE: Carson High School

WHEN: 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday, July 13 and Tuesday, July 14

COST: $95 before July 6, which includes a T-shirt to be worn at camp.

Carson City Aquatic Facility

The city pool has the best price in town for a day of complete fun in the sun. Check out the punch cards for sale at the Carson City Aquatic Facility. For a 10-visit punch card, children ages 4-17 can enjoy the facility for $2.25 per visit. It is a safe, clean and a great way to get exercise. I have included the Web site so you can check out all the other programs like swim lessons, aquacize and more.

COST: 10-visit punch card, $22.50 (Monthly passes may be purchased by Carson City residents).

SAFETY: Children 6 and under must be accompanied in the water and actively supervised by an adult swimmer.

2009 SUMMER CAMP

Kick Back Kamp is programmed to meet the needs of children going into first through fourth grades. The program focuses on fun and recreational enrichment. Activities include swimming, arts and crafts, sports, local field trips, group games, and movie days. Groups are Kinder Kamp (kindergarten); Wagoneers (first grade); Pioneers (second grade); Explorers (third grade); Mountaineers (fourth grade); Wolverines/Summer Loafers (fifth/sixth grades); Trailblazers (seventh, eighth, ninth grades).

WHAT: Summer Camp

WHEN: Camp hours are 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Camp week 3 is June 29-July 2. Pay in full by June 22. Week 4 is July 6-10. Pay in full by June 19. Week 5 is July 13-17. Pay in full by June 26. Week 6 is July 20-24. Pay in full by July 2. Week 7 is July 27-Jul 31. Pay in full by July 10. Week 8 is Aug. 3-7. Pay in full by July 17. Week 9 is Aug. 10-14. Pay in full by July 24.
