Obituary: Kathryn L. Van Besoyen

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Kathryn Lenore Sutterfield Van Besoyen, age 92, of Lehi, Utah passed away peacefully at her daughter's home, Vicki and Thomas Richards, June 22, 2009, among family members.

Kathryn was born March 17, 1917 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Allen Clarence and Lillian Eva Berg Riley.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in many capacities throughout her life.

Kathryn and her husband Earl E. Bartlett, with their children, lived most of their married life in the San Francisco Bay area. Later she married Ray Sutterfield.

Kathryn was an employee of the Wells Fargo Bank where she enjoyed her career as a loan office for many years. After her husband Ray died, she retired and moved to Carson City to be near her sister May Urata. In Carson City she met and married Ab Van Besoyen.

Kathryn was a charitable and caring person, especially in regards to her family, always concerned of their welfare. Her legacy in the family will be forever cherished.

She is survived by her sister May Urata; daughter Vicki (Thomas) Richards; sons William (Shirley) Bartlett, and James Bartlett.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister Bea Warnick; daughter-in-law Linda Bartlett, grandson Kenneth Bartlett and granddaughter Serenittee Fisher.

Graveside services for Kathryn will be 1 p.m., Saturday at the Los Gatos Cemetery, 2255 Los Gatos Almaden Road, San Jose, Calif. Family and friends may call noon-12: 45 p.m., Saturday prior to the graveside service at Darling - Fischer Mortuary, 615 North Santa Cruz Avenue Los Gatos, Calif.
