Obituary: Faye M. Waiton

Faye M Waiton, 91, a resident of Carson City, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 17, 2009.

She was born on July 2, 1918, to Edwin and Bordella (Barker) Marshall in Ogden, Utah. Faye graduated from Ogden High School in 1936, and attended Weber College in Ogden, majoring in drama.

Faye named the town of Jackpot, Nev., and was the first postmistress of Jackpot. She retired from the IRS in Ogden, Utah.

She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, involved in the Masonic and Elk Lodges, and active in the Salvation Army and Hospice, helping people in need. Faye enjoyed traveling around the world with her husband Richard when he participated in World Masters Swimming. She also enjoyed exercising, doing aerobics, and running on her lunch breaks around the IRS building in Ogden, and was an excellent speaker in drama.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Waiton, sons Ronald Piersanti and Steven Piersanti; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Faye was preceded in death by her father, mother, brothers and sisters, Howard, Cleon, Dean, Jean, daughter Patsy, and first husband Peter Piersanti.

Viewing and visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Waltons Chapel of the Valley and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the McKay LDS Church. Funeral services will be Saturday at the Mc Kay LDS Church with bishop Kevin Cavin officiating. After the funeral service, a luncheon will follow from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Burial will follow the luncheon at Waltons Carson Gardens at 1:30 p.m. Arrangements are in care of Waltons Chapel of the Valley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice.
