A 34-year-old Carson City man was jailed Thursday for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old family friend.
Jason Elliot Parnham, a computer technician, was arrested at 3 p.m. Thursday on suspicion of felony statutory sexual seduction.
According to the arrest report, Parnham's family is friends with the girl's family and he has known her since she was born.
In October, Parnham allegedly picked up the 15-year-old girl and took her back to his home and had sex with her. After that encounter, the girl and Parnham allegedly exchanged e-mails and text messages, referencing the encounter.
When the girl's parents found out, they confronted Parnham and he agreed to turn himself in to police, the report states.
When he did not turn himself in, the parents went to the police, the report states.
Parnham then surrendered to police. His bail was set at $15,000.
