RENO - Rob Wigton, Minden, has been named the new chief executive officer for the Nevada Association of Realtors.

Wigton comes to the position with nearly 15 years of experience as an owner/manager of a real estate firm in Minden. He served as president of the Sierra Nevada Association of Realtors in 2004-05 and as the president of the Nevada Association of Realtors in 2008.

He was awarded the NVAR Realtor of the Year Award in 2008. He was recently named a hall of fame member of the Realtors Political Action Committee, recognizing his lifetime contributions.

The Nevada Association of Realtors is a professional trade association with more than 16,500 members.

Adrienne Jordan has joined Coldwell Banker Best Sellers in Carson City as a full-time Realtor.

Jordan graduated from University of Nevada, Reno in May with a bachelor of science in business marketing. She'll be working with her mother, Realtor Kathy Tatro.

Ben Smith, president of BSA Construction of Dayton, has completed the requirements for the Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation program.

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Remodelors Council, in collaboration with the AARP, NAHB Research Center, and NAHB Seniors Housing Council, developed this program to provide comprehensive information about working with older adults to remodel their homes for aging-in-place.

"This is one of my favorite programs." Smith said. "We all value our independence and that of our loved ones yet yearn for a safe and comfortable environment."

Smith is a member of the Builders Association of Western Nevada (BAWN), chairs the Remodelers Council and is on the steering committee of the Energy Star Partner program.

Miles Construction of Mound House won tenant improvement contracts from United Health Group and Northwest Territorial Mint.

The United Health Group improvements, designed by architect Terry G. Wobken, include 4,089 square feet of office space at 5370 Kietzke Lane. Northwest Territorial Mint contracted with Miles Construction to remodel 11,285 square feet of existing office space in the former Medallic Art building in Dayton. The mint recently moved into the office and manufacturing facility.

Canyon Creek Angus LLC, Genoa, is No. 1 in registering the most Angus beef cattle in Nevada, recording 131 head of Angus with the American Angus Association during fiscal 2009, according to Bryce Schumann, CEO of the American Angus Association.

Angus breeders across the nation in 2009 registered 282,911 head of Angus cattle.

"Our year-end statistics continue to demonstrate strong demand for Angus genetics and solidify our long-held position as a leader in the beef cattle industry," Schumann said. "These results underscore our members' commitment to providing genetic solutions to the beef cattle industry."

The American Angus Association, headquartered in Saint Joseph, Mo. is the largest beef registry association in the world in terms of both annual registrations and active members.
