Queer correspondence: A bouquet of correspondence which Governor Kinkead receives, some sublimely cheeky, some pitiful enough to touch a heart of stone, come to the Governor from those who have heard of his generous nature. Some of those letters include: a wife whose husband is unkind to her, asking advice; a divorced woman with three children seeking counsel as to how to make a living for her little brood; and a woman who wants her son released from the Army - without delay.

120 YEARS AGO

70 YEARS AGO

Nevada marriage business increases. The reason was neither spring nor Cupid. California has a new law requiring physical examination of applications for marriage.

50 YEARS AGO

Bill Dolan of the Carson City Nevada Appeal was appointed to the Toast-

masters district public relations committee.

20 YEARS AGO

A savings and loan bailout might cost the state millions and Nevada cities and schools would be the biggest losers.

10 YEARS AGO

More than 600 people showed up to bid on items at the Boys and Girls Club annual auction held at the Nevada State Railroad Museum. Auction raised more than $100,000.
