Born Nov. 16, 1935, Edith Marie Botts passed away at home on April 18, 2010. Her passing was a peaceful end to a long struggle with illness. Edith was preceded in death by her father Jess Owensby, her mother Rose Anna and sister Roberta. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Neil, and her children Mike, Rosanna and Rhonda. Edie and Neil have five grandchildren, Jeremiah, Robert, Rebecca, Keith and Tristian, and they have five great-grandchildren. Edith was the oldest of eight children. Her brothers and sisters are Jack, Jim, Ed, Judy, Steven, Barbara, and Tammy.
Edith and Neil were married on Dec. 26, 1953 in Carson City at the First Baptist Church Rectory. She was a member of Job's Daughters and loved to travel. Edie was an avid bowler, bird watcher and video poker player but her favorite thing to do was play with her grandchildren.
No services are planned. Donations will be accepted in her name at the Gold Dust West Bowling Center for Gold Dust West Youth Bowlers. FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for arrangements.
