NBC August breakfast meeting in Reno

Local Realtors complete foreclosure designation

Ten Realtors for Realty Executives Nevada's Choice in Carson City and Gardnerville recently completed extensive training in foreclosure avoidance and short sale strategies earning them the designation of Certified Distressed Property Expert.

They are Heidi McFadden, Kathi Quilici, Charity Hart, Kathy Stone, Deb Martin, Lori Jenkins and Kellie Roberts all of the Carson City office and Carole O'Banion, Debbie Logan and Valerie Black of the Gardnerville office.


Nevada firms get $1.3 million in energy grants

The federal Energy Department has issued grants to two Nevada companies for projects designed to make clean energy technology available in the market place.

The Nevada companies, Rocky Research in Boulder City and Multi-Phase Technologies in Sparks, will receive a total of $1.37 million.

Rocky Research is developing ways to make solar cooling economically viable, developing medium temperature solar collectors to power a commercial solar air conditioner. The company will receive $994,606.

Multi-Phase Technologies is developing a cost-effective method of monitoring the collection and storage of carbon dioxide to find and stop potential leaks. The company will receive $381,928


Thompson joins

Stewart Title

Kim Thompson has joined Stewart Title in Carson City. Thompson moved to the Northern Nevada area in 1987, starting her title and escrow career in 1988 at the Ridge Tahoe.

She has experience closing a wide variety of transactions such as refinance, existing home sales, general commercial and mobile home conversions.

She and her husband have three sons and one grandchild.

Former Carson City resident joins Vegas firm

Josh Correlli has joined the Las Vegas office of Kaempfer Crowell law firm. His practice focuses primarily on business, corporate, real estate and finance transactions as well as general civil litigation.

He also provides pro bono legal services through the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada to residential property owners regarding the foreclosure mediation process.

Kaempfer Crowell has offices in Las Vegas, Reno and Carson City.
