A Stagecoach man already awaiting trial on five counts of sexual assault involving two young girls will appear in Dayton Justice Court next week on 17 additional counts involving three more children.

William Billy Jack Caron, 35, has been in custody since his arrest in December 2009 after one of the alleged victims confided in a teacher about the assaults.

An investigation by the Lyon County Sheriff's Office uncovered four other girls, ranging in ages from 9 to 11 years old, who also had allegedly been sexually assaulted by Caron between April 2007 and December 2009 at his Stagecoach home, at his previous home in Dayton and in his vehicle.

In April, Caron was bound over to District Court for trial on three counts of sexual assault.

During the first preliminary hearing, one of the girls alleged other uncharged assaults at the hands of Caron, prompting Lyon County Assistant District Attorney Mark Krueger to file additional charges against him.

A second criminal complaint filed Aug. 4 charges Caron with five counts of lewdness with a minor under 14 and 12 counts of sexual assault of a child under 14 against three girls.

On July 26, co-defendant Andrew Carpenter, 21, of Lyon County, pleaded guilty to lewdness with a minor under 14 and was sentenced to 10 years to life in prison.

Caron remains in custody on $400,000 bail.
